There is a longer paper on http://www.CompassionSpace.com that addresses the reasons why we need community discourse about compassion. The idea that we don't need to give compassion a voice needs to be examined more closely as it poses harm to our world. The short version of the response to the question is that if we do not give compassion a voice (in our own heads and with others) then what can easily happen is that some other voice will become louder (fear, despair, apathy, frustration, anger). There is historical observation, and research, to support this. So here, on this forum and on the web site, we can begin to give compassion a voice, and help to make it stronger in the world. PASS IT ON!
